Give Back, Get Back.

Have you ever lost an item of yours, but later got it back because a person was nice enough to give it back to you when they found it? If you’re the person that finds a lost item, don’t be a greedy person just take the item for your own use! Try to find the owner and return it. It’s the right thing to do, plus you’ll feel good when you return the lost item back to the owner. If you are tempted to take the item for your own use, think about how the owner of the item must be feeling. They’re not going to be ecstatic that they’ve lost a possession of theirs, right? Of course not! The owner would be worried and panicky. I don’t think anyone would like to be in that type of situation and feel like that. Also, when you’re in the situation of deciding whether or not you should return the item, remember this quote by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:

Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower and draws all good things towards you.

It means that if you make someone happy, something will good will happen to you and it will make YOU happy. I was shown this video of a man forgetting all of his suitcases in a taxi. He was frantically searching for his suitcases, which, when you add how much each item in it costs, thousands of dollars. After many hours of calling, the taxi company called the man back saying that they had his suitcases. He rushed to go get his suitcases and he asked where the taxi driver was. When he found the taxi driver that had returned all of his things, he ended up giving the man a friendly note which included two hundred dollars in the cash. The taxi driver GAVE back the suitcases to the own, and he GOT a reward for doing so. One nice gesture of just giving a lost item back can make all the difference not only to the person, but also yourself. Always keep in mind that when you give something or something back to someone, you will get something back as a reward for doing a good deed. In addition to the reward, you will also feel great about what you did.
